    Mark Jones Biography


    Mark was first elected to the Hays County Commissioners Court in 2010. Before that, he served two terms on the Hays CISD School Board. In addition to serving as an elected official, Mark served on the Board of Directors for the Plum Creek Conservation District, was a founding board member of the Central Texas Life Care. At this time, he is serving on the Board of Directors for Hays Young Life, the Hays County Food Bank, and the Hays Education Foundation.


    Mark was born and raised in Buda. When he and his wife, Kerri, married, in 1983, they moved all the way to Kyle. Kerri is a third grade teacher at Kyle Elementary. They have two married children, Clayton and wife Keely, and Kayla, and husband Royal. The youngest, McKenzie, attends Texas State University. All three children graduated from Hays High School. Clayton went on to graduate from Texas A&M University, and Kayla graduated from Texas State University.


    Mark has been a longtime volunteer in the area. Since 1982, he has been the starter for the Hays High School track meets as well as several junior high meets. He has been the timekeeper for Hays High School Football and basketball games, since 1988.


    Mark feels extremely lucky to be able to serve, and raise his family, in the area that he grew up in. That is something he never takes for granted.
