The Justice of the Peace (JP) Pct 5. Office is here to serve the constituents of Buda and Hays County area. The Justice of the Peace is the legal jurisdiction closest to the citizens and is often referred to as “The People’s Court.” As Judges, we preside over Civil and Criminal cases.
In addition, we offer Free Notary Services!
Furthermore, the Hays County JP’s serve as coroners and conduct inquests because Hays County does not have a medical examiner. Justices of the Peace are on call 24 -7.
The Hays County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 will be closed Friday, January 24, 2025 for building maintenance.
