Justice of the Peace Pct. 5 (Buda)
Introduction
The Office of the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, is committed to serving the residents of Buda and the surrounding Hays County area with integrity and dedication.
As the court closest to the people, the Justice of the Peace is often referred to as “The People’s Court.” As Judges, we preside over a wide range of civil and criminal matters, ensuring accessible and impartial justice.
In addition to these responsibilities, and due to the absence of a medical examiner in Hays County, Justices of the Peace also serve as coroners and conduct inquests. We are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to fulfill these vital duties.
We are also pleased to provide complimentary notary services to the public.
