Geographic Information System (GIS) & 9-1-1 Addressing Division

Hays County, in conjunction with the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), is busy maintaining a GIS data repository and state-of-the-art 9-1-1 emergency response system. The GIS division make use of geographic information such as aerial photographs and road and address data to assist dispatchers and emergency personnel responding to 9-1-1 call.



The GIS division assists the Commissioners’ court with long-range planning projects as well as the assignment of 9-1-1 addresses for most of Hays County.
