UPDATE 8:51 pm:
Estimated 300 acres, 10% containment. Fire has laid down. Forward progression has been stopped. Marble Falls IA group on scene, all dozers engaged on the right flank. Hand crew continues to construct hand line on the left flank. Engine crews continuing structure protection

UPDATE 6:51 pm First Baptist Church of Wimberley is open as a temporary evacuation shelter for anyone who has been asked to leave their homes

Est 100 acres burned. Fire has crossed to the north side of the Blanco River.
Texas A&M Forest Service is in unified command with Hays County emergency resources. 0% contained right now. Dozers on ground constructing fire line perimeter.
Other resources: one Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) strike team, the Hays County Wildland Task Force, the Travis County, Task Force, one emergency medical Task Force, one air attack platform, two helicopters, four single engine air tankers, two super scooper planes, and one large air tanker are on scene.
UPDATE 5:36 pm. Texas A&M Forest Service now on scene. Estimated at 80 to 85 acres burned. Moving in a north/northwest direction. Approximately 12 households have been evacuated at this time.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m. For any homes that are being asked to evacuate due to this wild fire, the Promised Land Church is open as a temporary shelter. 1650 Lime Kiln Road, San Marcos, Texas.
UPDATE 4:22 fire estimated to be about 70 acres. Air assets en route.

Our CERT – Hays County, Texas volunteers have been called out for the following incident, now known as the Oak Grove Fire: Large outside fire in the 200 block of Oak Grove Rd., San Marcos. The Hays County Wildland Task Force is responding. No other details currently available. Updates will be provided ASAP.
