Onion Creek Watershed Hydraulic Study
Hays County, in collaboration with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), is conducting a hydraulic study to better understand water flow from the Onion Creek Watershed. The study results will aid the county with updating existing floodplain maps.
As part of the study, the county is hosting a public meeting from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, to share more information on the study and seek input from community members within the study area.
The public meeting is an opportunity for community members to learn about the study and share input on flooding and water flow concerns in the area. This study will help the county better understand water flow from the Onion Creek Watershed and what areas would be impacted by 100-year and 500-year storm events. This study will also identify conceptual flood mitigation alternatives for areas with repetitive flooding impacts.
