Introduction

The Hays County Purchasing Office, established in October 2023, performs duties that were originally under the Auditor's Office. The Purchasing Agent is the chief procurement officer for Hays County. By statute, the purchasing agent is responsible for directing and overseeing the county procurement process for all elected and appointed officials and county departments.
